Podium Woodworking Plans

by Ovidiu

This step by step diy project is about podium woodworking plans. I have designed this wood podium so anyone can get the job done using just 3/4″ plywood and common lumber. Remember that you need to adjust the size of the stand so it suits your needs. This diy podium has compact dimensions, so storing it shouldn’t be an issue. Take a look over the rest of our woodworking plans, if you want to get more building inspiration.

When buying the lumber, you should select the planks with great care, making sure they are straight and without any visible flaws (cracks, knots, twists, decay). Investing in cedar or other weather resistant lumber is a good idea, as it will pay off on the long run. Use a spirit level to plumb and align the components, before inserting the galvanized screws, otherwise the project won’t have a symmetrical look. If you have all the materials and tools required for the project, you could get the job done in about a day. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

Your instructions to build the sides are confusing. I also think you forgot to finish the first step, based on the wording. How do you get a 10” x 45” piece of wood from 2 2x4s of lumber?

Oops… that would be 3/4″ plywood instead of 2x4s. Thank your for the feedback.
