This step by step diy woodworking project is about bar stool plans. If you want to build a high bar stool for your kitchen, we recommend you to pay attention to the instructions and diagrams that are featured on this article. Plan every aspect of the woodworking project from the very beginning, if you want to get the job done in a professional manner and to keep the costs under control.

There are several aspects that you should take into account before starting the actual construction of the bar stool. For example, we recommend you to invest in high-quality materials, such as pine, redwood or cedar, as they are weather-resistant and have a nice appearance. Align the components at both ends and drill pilot holes before inserting the galvanized screws. Add waterproof glue to the joints, in order to create rigid joints. Building the sides of the stool

Building the sides of the stool

The first step of the project is to build the sides of the bar stool. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to build the components out of 2×2 lumber. Cut one end of the horizontal components at 5 degrees, by using a miter saw.

In addition, you should cut both ends of the front legs at 5 degrees, in order to enhance the look of the project. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the horizontal supports and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the legs.

Assembling the frame of the stool

It is essential to make sure the angles are right-angled and the back legs are plumb before continuing the woodworking project. Locking the sides of the stool together is a straight-forward job, but you need to take into account a few aspects.

Plumb the sides of the stool before installing the rest of the supports. It is essential to make sure the corners are right-angled. Add waterproof glue to the joints, if you want to get a professional result.

Attaching the seat slats

Attaching the seat slats

Attaching the seat slats is a simple process, but you need to pay attention to the technique you use to get the job done. Therefore, we recommend you to attach the frame of the stool over the slats, making sure they are equally spaced.

Center the frame over the slats and make sure they are equally spaced. Drill pocket holes through the frame of the stools and insert screws into the slats. Add waterproof glue to the joints, in order to enhance the rigidity of the structure.

One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the pilot holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper.

Top Tip: In order to protect the lumber from water damage, we recommend you to cover the components with several coats of paint. Place the wooden chair in a proper location and move it whenever necessary.

The Materials sections is incorrect, missing 5 pieces for the frame, and mismatches between it and the instructions, parts D for instance.
