There are many woodworking projects and plans to choose from, so take a look over the rest of the project if you want to enhance the look of your home with a one-of-a-kind project.
We recommend you to invest in high quality materials when building the cat tower, such as pine, redwood or cedar. Use a pencil to mark the cut lines before adjusting the size of the components at the right dimensions. Align the wooden components at both ends and add waterproof glue to the joints, especially if you want to use the cat tower for many years in a row. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

Cat Tower Plans
Top Tip: If you want to get the job done in a professional manner, we recommend you to pay attention to the instructions described in the video.
Building a cat tower
The first step of the woodworking project is to build the base of the cat tower. As you can easily notice in the image we recommend you to build the base using 2×2 lumber and 1/2″ plywood. Make sure you cut the components at the right size before locking them together tightly.
Plumb the legs with a spirit level before drilling pilot holes through the plywood and inserting the screws. Cut out a small piece out of the plywood top in order to fit the post into place properly.
Fitting the post into place is a straight-forward job as it requires just basic skills. Lock the post into place with galvanized screws after making sure everything is aligned at both ends.
Continue the woodworking project by attaching the shelves into place. As you can easily notice in the image, we recommend you to cut the shelves at the right plans and to lock them into place with screws.
Top Tip: Make sure the shelves are perfectly level before inserting the screws. In addition, we recommend you to add waterproof glue to the joints, in order to create rigid joints.
One of the last step of the project is to attach the trims to the exterior of the shelves. As you can easily notice in the image we recommend you to use pieces of 1×2 lumber.
Top Tip: Cut the trims at the right size and lock the into place with finishing nails and waterproof glue. Align the trims at both ends before locking them into place, especially if you want a professional result.
After assembling the cat tower we recommend you to check if the components are locked together properly. Insert the galvanized screws properly, making sure they are at the same level with the wooden surface.
Top Tip: Don’t forget to take a cover the components with carpet, if you want to enhance the look of the tower and to make it stand out. Use glue to lock the components into place.
