How to build a tree plant stand
The first step of the project is to build the sides for the tree plant stand. Cut the components from 1×2 lumber at the right dimensions. Drill pilot holes through the horizontal supports and insert 1 5/8″ screws. Align the edges with attention and make sure the corners are square.
The next step of the project is to assemble the frame of the tree plant stand, by attaching the side supports. Take accurate measurements, check if the corners are square, drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/8″ screws to secure everything together tightly.
Use 1×2 lumber for the plant stand supports. Use a jigsaw to make the ends of the supports round. Smooth the edges with sandpaper for a professional result.
Fit the supports to the tree frame and use a spirit level to check if they are horizontal. Drill pilot holes through the braces and insert 1 5/8″ screws to secure them into place.
Fit 1×4 slats to the top of the supports, as shown in the diagram. Place a piece of 1/4″ plywood between the slats so you can create even gaps. Drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/8″ screws to secure the slats into place tightly.
Last but not least, you need to take care of the finishing touches. Drill the holes with wood putty and then smooth the surface with sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain to enhance the look of the plant stand tree.
