Building a workshop plans

Building the sides

The first step of the woodworking project is to build the sides of the wooden stand. Therefore, mark the cut lines on the 1×8 slats and get the job done with a circular saw.

Top Tip: Use a nice jigsaw to make the curved cuts and smooth the edges with sandpaper. remove the residues with a cleaner and make sure the opposite components is exactly the same in shape and size.

Fitting the supports

Continue the woodworking project by fitting the supports to the sides of the workshop stand. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the supports and secure them to the sides with 1 1/4″ screws.

Top Tip: Add waterproof glue to the joints and make sure the corners are right-angled and rigid. Leave no gaps between the wooden components, if you want to get the job done in a professional manner.

Fitting the top

Cut a piece of 1×8 lumber at 8 3/4″ and lay it on a level surface. Place the frame of the stand on the piece and center it with great care. Drill pocket holes through the frame and insert 1 1/4″ screws into the top. Add waterproof glue to the joints, in order to enhance the bond of the components.

One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the pilot holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper.

Top Tip: If you want to enhance the look of the woodworking project and to protect the table from decay, we recommend you to cover the components with paint or stain. Place the stand in a proper location and move it whenever necessary.
