Building a bench
The first step of the woodworking project is to build the sides of the garden bench. Cut the components at the right size and smooth the edges in order to get a professional result.
Top Tip: Cut the top of the wooden legs in a professional manner, in order to get the job done in a professional manner. Cut out a rombic hole in the legs in order enhance the look of the wooden bench.
Cut the supports out of 2×4 lumber and drill pocket holes at both ends, before locking them into place by using 2 1/2″ screws. Add waterproof glue to the joints and make sure the corners are square. Check if the side components are plumb before inserting the screws.
Make sure you take accurate measurements before locking the components into place, as described in the diagram. Leave no gaps between the components and add glue to create a rigid structure. Drill pocket holes through the top of the supports using a nice jig.
Cut the seat of the bench out of 2×12 lumber, as described in the diagram. Make the corners decorative and smooth the edges by using a nice sandpaper. Center the seat into place and insert 2 1/2″ galvanized screws in order to create rigid joints.
One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the pilot holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper.
Top Tip:Â If you want to enhance the look of the woodworking project and to protect the table from decay, we recommend you to cover the components with paint or stain. Place the bench in a proper location and move it whenever necessary.
