Multi Guitar Stand – DIY Project

From Stacey,

Thanks so much for the plans to the guitar stand! This is one of my first woodworking projects. I made it for my husband, for our anniversary. Left it unfinished at first, since I wanted him to decide the stain color.

Also, I learned that his electric guitars did not fit the original plans–the very bottom of them sat on the floor. So we attached foam to two other boards, covered them in faux suede, and attached them to the bottom cross boards. Now the electric guitars are off the floor.

Also added a strip of thin craft foam to the neck holders for protection.

Finish: Stained with Varathane’s Espresso wood stain and coated in a matte polyurethane.

Time: Probably could have been done in a weekend, but I glued all of the pieces as well as screwed them.

Then time was taken while deciding stain color and working around other projects.

Cost: $50-$75, since I purchased new wood and the extra foams and fabric.
