DIY Project – Make a Wooden Wishing Well

From Keith Fritze,

Made this wishing well entirely of 1×4 pressure treated lumber. Roof is cedar shingles which will naturally weather. It took 72 shingles to cover the roof. I increased the dowel size to 1.25″ and bored it for 7/16″ dowel pegs. Stained with Minwax walnut stain and sealed with Spar Urethane.

Approx Material Cost:

  • $100 for the 1×4.
  • $8 for Dowels $5 Roof Peak Trim
  • $25 for Walnut stain and spar urethane
  • $25 for cedar shingles off FB Marketplace (Would have been about $80 retail)
  • $15 screws and nails
