I built mine out of cedar so I substituted the 1×6 and 1×8 material with 5/4 deckboard to save on cost (1×6 and 1×8 cedar board is kinda pricey). I also cut a curve into the seat to make it a little more comfortable. I think if I built it again I would make it a little wider or the table narrower as my wife and I are not big people and it is pretty snug. Also, the directions are missing the part about ripping the table planks narrower or shaping them to fit as 4 1×4 planks will not fit in a 13″ hole. Awesome site though! Thanks a lot!
