DIY Wood Outhouse
From Terry Chang-Kee,
This was my first time building anything at all from a plan. One thing I recommend strongly is to install a “Pee Guard” at the front of the seat. I used a thick piece of plastic and nailed it down on the inside like in the picture. This really helps to keep pee from coming into contact with the inside front of the seat especially for the men with a strong stream. LOL
Also I used Thompson’s water seal at the bottom of the outhouse where it makes contact with the ground to prevent rot. I also placed some gravel before installing the outhouse over the hole. I added 4″ ABS exhaust pipe to to remove fumes from building up over time. I enjoyed doing this project and received a lot of complements.
Thanks for making these plans available, it was very easy to follow and execute.
