Backyard Lifeguard Chair – DIY Project

I constructed the lifeguard chair using 2x4s made from SPF lumber. SPF is heavier than cedar, so I did not need the cross beams underneath the chair because it was sturdy enough without it. Plus I like the looks of the chair better without the cross beams. I use this chair as a prop in my annual murder mystery party that I hold for friends and co-workers (poolside of course).
