This step by step diy woodworking project is about outdoor beer stand plans. This article features detailed instructions for building a small beer table, ideal for outdoor activities. If you like spending time in your garden, having a good time with friends or playing games, this wooden table is a great addition. We have designed the plans to keep the expenditures under control and to involve the least amount of work possible. It is an ideal project for a beginner as it requires basic tools.
When buying the lumber, you should select the planks with great care, making sure they are straight and without any visible flaws (cracks, knots, twists, decay). Investing in cedar or other weather resistant lumber is a good idea, as it will pay off on the long run. Use a spirit level to plumb and align the components, before inserting the galvanized screws, otherwise the table won’t have a symmetrical look. If you have all the materials and tools required for the project, you could get the job done in about a day. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

How to build a small beer table
The first step of the woodworking project is to build the supports for the base of the stand. Cut the supports out of 2×4 lumber. Use a saw to notch the exposed corners of the four supports. Drill pocket holes through the supports, as shown in the diagram. Smooth the edges with 120-grit sandpaper.
Next, you need to attach the supports to the vertical post. Cut the 4×4 post at the right dimension and smooth the edges with sandpaper. Center the supports to the faces of the post and lock them into place using 2 1/2″ screws. Add glue to the joints and remove the excess with a damp cloth.
Continue the project by assembling the frame for the top box. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the side components and insert 1 1/4′ screws to lock everything together tightly. Alternatively, you can use 1 1/4″ brad nails and glue. Align the edges and make sure the corners are right-angled.
Fit the slats to the bottom of the frame as in the diagram. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the 1×4 slats and insert 1 1/4″ screws to lock them to the frame. Drill some drainage holes through the bottom slats, if you are going to use the beer table outdoor.
Center the box to the post. Add glue to the joint and insert 2″ brad nails to lock the components together tightly. Leave no gaps between the post and the box for a professional result.
As you can see in the diagram, centering the post to the bottom of the box is a straight-forward project.
One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the pilot holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper.
Top Tip: If you want to enhance the look of the project and to protect the wooden small beer table, we recommend you to cover the components with paint or stain.
