Thanks for the plans. As you can see, not all of the swing set plan was followed. There are lots of right angle wanna bees! I also added a 2×4 support in the middle to add to the strength. I also substituted the recommended 1×2 arm rest supports with 1×3 1/2’s for additional strength. GREAT help! This was my first woodworking project.

I stopped by an all wood furniture store to ask about finishes. They highly recommended a polyacrylic product – Exterior 450 satin finish.  My swing has two coats of this and it took the whole quart.  She recommended re-coating in about 2 years. A polyurethane finish would more than likely turn yellow and peel over time.
