From Bill Turk,

Being very short of garden space, my wife and I wanted somewhere to grow vegetables and herbs etc. I built her a raised planter. From start to finish, it took me a week, however, I do have a full time job and I had to contend with the British weather.

In reality, the project could be done in a day. Materials used were planned softwood.

10 @ 2.4 meters x 94 mm x 18 mm

1 @ 2.4 mtrs x 50mm x 50mm

2 @ 2.4mtrs x 25mm x 15mm.

Total cost for materials was £65 British pounds.

On completion of the project, we lined the inside of the planter with a breathable fabric before filling it with compost. Plans were drawn up as a guide before commencing and altered as I went along. This is my first project so didn’t get as many pictures as I should have done. Will do better next time
