DIY Project – 16 ft Kayak Rack

I build my canoe rack based on this Kayak rack. Looks and works great!
Changes: I extended the back frame to use 4″x4x”8 to make it wider.
I also raised the “arms” to a 2ft spread.
I also added some extra 4″x4″x3′ pieces to the bottom for some extra reinforcement for the additional weight, as well as some additional height for the canoe or kayak to be stored at near ground level in the future.
Future thoughts: I might also build a storage box (or platform) at the bottom of the rack for all the other canoeing gear (paddles/vest/safety kit/etc)
