DIY Outdoor Swing Project

From Kieran,

4x8ft fence posts, 3x6ft fencing posts. Got from local wood mill, plus screws to screw together, all in, £85. Wood drill bits £10. Used drawing from plans to cut out top of a frame with handsaw, bought myself a electric planer from an online to get smooth edges on all wood, £35 dressed edges with a 45’ edge to take sharp edge off( just incase it’s run into) used circular saw to get angles, for braces.

When I put it together, my angles weren’t just hitting flush so used planer to get them were I needed them, didn’t cut the top angles braces as shown, just cut at 45’ and fitted top braces were they lined up, cut small 45’ wedges, just to tidy up joints, 42in inside measurements. I have a small garden so trying to keep space down, haven’t trimmed top rail, might add onto it if moving house etc, Swing seat from local toy store £35, it’s suits 6 month up to 30kg It’s not a professional job but happy with end result
