From John Cabral,

7′ x 3′ built in curio cabinet. My Wife and I both like built ins, so after opening the wall between the hall and dining room, that big blank wall was just so tempting! This is what We came up with. It is made from strapping and 2×4’s with glass upper doors.

We used the space inside the wall so it would only be 2.25″ from the wall and still have 5.5″ deep shelves. The doors required a lot of mill time and careful assembly. Start to finish took about 4 days. Total cost was about $130.
