8×8 Greenhouse – DIY Project

From Abi Maghamfar,

I built my 8×8 greenhouse based on the plans I purchased from MyOutdoorPlans.com with some modifications.

I secured the 4×4 base with Ground Earth Anchors to the ground. I installed weed barrier fabric and built a floor using pavers. For the door I used a 12-pane glass door and installed a screen door. The greenhouse has power, a hanging light, a fan, an outlet and water source.

The greenhouse has two-tier shelves on 3 sides. The top shelves are for pots and plants and the lower shelves are for storage and supplies. All the wood, interior and exterior, are stained and water sealed. On the exterior the lower 36″ is covered by 19/32 inch Plywood siding panel, which is painted to match the other structures on the property.

There are 3 single windows with screen on the sides and back walls. I worked on this project during the winter months and because of weather conditions it took me about 3 months to complete.

Total cost not including labor was approx $1,500.
