Harvest Table Plans
The first step of the table projects is to build the legs. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you to make a notch to the pieces of 4×4 lumber. Mark the cut lines on the legs and get the job done with a circular saw.
Top Tip: Make a few parallel cuts inside the marked area and remove the excess using a chisel. Smooth the recess with sandpaper and repeat the process for the rest of the legs.
Attach the braces to the bottom of the legs, as described in the diagram. Drill pilot holes through the 2×4 braces and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the legs. Add waterproof glue to the joints and remove the residues using a damp cloth.
The next step of the woodworking project is to build the frame of the harvest table. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the 2×4 components and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the legs.
Top Tip: Make sure the corners are right-angled and add waterproof glue to the joints. In addition, plumb the legs with a spirit level and make sure the framing components are horizontal. Work with attention and use quality materials.
Attach the 2×4 supports to the frame of the table, in order to get the job done in a professional result. Make sure the corners are right-angled, drill pocket holes at both ends and secure them to the frame using 2 1/2″ screws.
Drill pocket holes at both ends of the stretcher and secure it to the braces by using 2 1/2″ galvanized screws. Add glue to the joints and make sure the corners are right-angled.
In order to get a professional result, we recommend you to attach the 2×6 slats to the frame of the table. Drill pocket holes through the supports and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the slats. Leave no gaps between the slats and add waterproof glue, in order to get a proper bond between the components.
One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the pilot holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper.
Top Tip:Â If you want to enhance the look of the woodworking project and to protect the table from decay, we recommend you to cover the components with paint or stain. Place the table in a proper location and move it whenever necessary.
