8×10 Cheap Shed Door and Ramp Plans

This step by step diy project is about 8×10 cheap shed roof plans. This is PART 2 of the simple storage shed, where I show you how to build the 4′ wide door. This gable shed is simple to build and it will be very handy for any homeowner. You can easily adjust the size and the design of the doors, to suit your needs. When buying the lumber, you should select the planks with great care, making sure they are straight and without any visible flaws (cracks, knots, twists, decay). Investing in cedar or other weather resistant lumber is a good idea, as it will pay off on the long run. Use a spirit level to plumb and align the components, before inserting the galvanized screws, otherwise the project won’t have a symmetrical look. • K – 2 pieces of 2×4 lumber – 70 1/2″ long, 1 piece – 55″ long JAMBS
• L – 2 pieces of 2×4 lumber – 62″ long, 2 pieces – 48″ long, 1 piece – 41″ long, 1 piece of T1-11 siding – 48″x69″ long DOOR

Building a 8×10 shed door

Fitting the door jambs

Fit 2×4 jambs around the door opening. Cut the components at the right dimensions and secure the jambs into place with 3 1/2″ screws. Align the edges flush.

Fitting-the-trusses—8×10-shed

Continue the project by assembling the front door. Cut the frame of the 2×4 lumber at the right dimensions and lock them into place with 2 1/2″ screws and construction glue. Align the edges flush and make sure the corners are square. Attach the T1-11 siding sheets with 2″ nails, every 8″ along the framing.

Ramp joists

Use 2×4 lumber for the ramp joists. Use a miter saw to make the angle cuts to the boards.

Fitting-the-ramp-joists

Fit the joists to the floor frame and lock them into place with 3 1/2″ screws. Place the joists equally spaced.

Ramp supports

Fit 2×4 blockings between the joists and lock them into place with 2 1/2″ screws.

Fitting the slats to the ramp

Fit the 1×4 slats to the ramp joists. Align the slats at both ends and then drill pilot holes. Insert 1 5/8″ screws to lock the slats into place tightly.

This small utility shed will help you store many tools, toys and other items you don’t need on a regular basis. Apply a few coats of paint over the siding to enhance the look of the storage shed.
