DIY Sawbuck

DIY-Sawbuck

From Steve Fixx,

Thanks for posting these great plans! This would make a great table base but I’m cutting wood on it. Using scrap wood lying in the barn loft I modified the plans in the following ways…because anything worth building is worth overbuilding 🙂  I adjusted the length to 48″ and used 2x6s for the X-members, salvaged porch railing for the horizontal rails, and 1×6 for the diagonal bracing. I used deck screws for all the bracing and would have preferred carriage bolts for the fold-flat X-members except all I had around were 3/8×2.5 lag screws. If the joints weaken over time I’ll replace those. Time to go cut some wood. I’ll be immensely safer now!
