From Danny,

New to woodworking and this porch swing with stand was my first build for both of these projects. When looking at some of the pictures posted, it looked as if the chain would strike the 2×4 upper braces, so I made some small changes. When I cut down the 4×4 side braces to 80 inches there was 16 inches left over. I cut both sides of the left over 4×4 at 45 degrees and used it in place of the 2×4 upper braces. I used two 8″ eye bolts with a large, medium and lock washer to support swing.
