DIY 2 Post Pergola

2-Leg-Pergola-Plans

From ‎Joe‎,

We finished up the pergola using your plans with just a few tweaks last weekend. It turned out great. It was a lot of fun to build / I set the 6×6 posts one weekend and made sure square and built the structure the following weekend. Took about 3 hours one weekend and about 5 hours the next weekend.

The decorative end pieces did take some time with a jigsaw. The total cost around 450. Did make a few changes. I bought 12 foot post to go almost 4 in ground with about 12 bags on 80 lb concrete. Over kill, but wanted to make strong because I’m looking at putting a bench swing under the pergola.

I only thing else was bought 4-10 inch lag bolts and 4-8 inch lags bolt to conect the support beams . Did need some help holding big beams in place and my impact drilll was a must.
