I spent roughly $50 on wood and $40 on screws (bought too many) I only used approximately 100 of the 2 1/2″ screws and 60 of the 1 5/8″. I would recommend picking up about (50x) 1 1/4″ screws for where the 1×4’s screw to each other.

I tried using cable instead of chain but found that cable doesn’t allow much adjustment and in general isn’t nearly as easy to work with. By the way, for me at least, the length of chain is 23″ plus an additional 4 links if I want to adjust it. Thank you for the plans, it was a fun build, I’m happy with the result.
