Double Shooting Bench – DIY Project

From Steve,

Here’s the shooting bench I made from your plans. As I used 2×4’s I needed to add 2 lower boards for better stability. A rest should be added also. For the rest simply cut 2 2×4’s , 16 in. Drill holes 3/4 in apart. Drill a hole for lag bolts in the center of a 2×4 that fits in the middle. To stabilize the shooting rest cut 2 strips of plywood for each side board. The rest part you can groove out a bit or add a cushion like old throw rug with roofers rubber on top.

I am experimenting with camo patterns for deer stand here. This was done with 2 base coats dried overnight. Then added 4 spray can colors light to dark with a white pine branch laid down at different angles. If you get 2 much of 1 color in a spot just let it dry a bit the apply a different color.

Another method for camouflaging I found was to use sea sponges or natural sponges found at Walmart. Just dip the sponges in water, squeeze dry and apply you paint light to dark. Good luck and happy hunting. Steve from Wisconsin
