This step by step diy project is about 8×8 shed door plans. This is PART 3 of the 8×8 shed project, where I show you how to build the door for the shed and how to fit the trims. Take a look over the rest of my woodworking plans, if you want to get more building inspiration. Remember that you need to select the site for the shed with attention and that you have to comply with a few legal regulations.
When buying the lumber, you should select the planks with great care, making sure they are straight and without any visible flaws (cracks, knots, twists, decay). Investing in cedar or other weather resistant lumber is a good idea, as it will pay off on the long run. Use a spirit level to plumb and align the components, before inserting the galvanized screws, otherwise the project won’t have a symmetrical look. If you have all the materials and tools required for the project, you could get the job done in about a day. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

DIYÂ Shed Double Door Plans
The first step of the project is to attach the 2×4 jambs around the door opening. Make sure the edges are flush and insert 2 1/2″ screws, so you can lock the trims into place tightly. Leave no gaps between the jambs for a professional result.
Build the double doors for the small garden shed from the panels you have cut out from the front siding. Lay the panels on a level surface and then lay the 2×4 trims over. Use 2″ brad nails to secure the panels to the trims. If you really want to make the shed look nice, attach the diagonal braces to the doors. You can be creative and make your own patterns.
Fit the double doors to the opening and then lock them to the jambs with hinges. In addition, you need to fit the latch, so you can lock the doors. Install the handles so you can open and close the doors easily.
Fit the 3×3 window to the side of the shed. Read the manufacturer’s instructions so you can lock the window into place tightly. Fit the 1×4 trims around the windows. Use 2″ brad nails to secure the trims into place tightly.
Last but not least, you should take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood putty and then smooth the surface with 120-220 grit sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain to enhance the look of the shed.
This 8×8 small shed is easy to build and has a neat design and appearance. You can choose the color scheme that suit your needs. Moreover, you can add more windows or even adjust the slope of the roof. Check out PART 1 and PART 2 of the shed, so you can learn everything you need to know about building the floor, walls and roof for the shed.
