8×8 Playhouse Railings Building Plans

by Ovidiu

This step by step diy project is about playhouse railings and trims plans. This is PART 3 of the 8×8 playhouse project, where I show you how to build the railings for the porch and how to fit the decorative trims. The front porch railings will add an unique and appealing charm to the project and make it stand out. Take a look over the rest of my woodworking plans, if you want to get more building inspiration.

When buying the lumber, you should select the planks with great care, making sure they are straight and without any visible flaws (cracks, knots, twists, decay). Investing in cedar or other weather resistant lumber is a good idea, as it will pay off on the long run. Use a spirit level to plumb and align the components, before inserting the galvanized screws, otherwise the project won’t have a symmetrical look. If you have all the materials and tools required for the project, you could get the job done in about a day. See all my Premium Plans HERE.

Last but not least, you need to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood putty and then smooth the surface with 120-220 grit sandpaper. Apply a few coats of paint or stain to enhance the look of the project and to protect the components from decay.

This playhouse is easy to build, sturdy and it has a nice design. The gable style roof is rustic and has a super charming appeal. Check out PART 1 of the project to lean how to build the frame of the playhouse and PART 2 to learn how to build the gable roof.

Very nice project. By chance, do have a rough idea of which might the weight of this finished house be? I’m planning to build it over a platform mounted on a tree for my grandson.
Regards.
