Pedestal Table Plans

Building the components

Building the components

The first step of the project is to build the components of the base. As you can easily notice in the woodworking plans, we recommend you to cut the 1×12 pieces of lumber at the right size and to make the decorative cuts.

Top Tip: Take accurate measurements and mark the cut lines on the components before performing the actual cuts. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.

Building the base

Building the base

Assembling the base of the pedestal table is the next step of the project. As you can easily notice in the plans, we recommend you align the components with great care and to drill pocket holes along the edges, before inserting the screws.

Top Tip: Add waterproof glue to the joints, in order to reinforce the structure. In addition, check if the corners are right-angled. Clamp the pieces together for several hours.

Continue the woodworking project by centering the base of the pedestal to the round countertop. The easiest way to get the job done is to buy a round piece of 3/4″ plywood (36″ in diameter) from your local DIY store.

Drill pocket holes through the bottom of the components and insert 1 1/4″ screws into the countertop. Add waterproof glue to the joints and leave it to dry ot for several days.

One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the pilot holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper.

Top Tip: If you want to enhance the look of the project and to protect the bar from decay, we recommend you to cover the components with paint or stain. Place the snowman in a proper location and move it whenever necessary.
