This step by step diy woodworking project is about bistro table plans. I have designed this bar table so you can create a nice place in your backyard where you can serve a drink. This table is super easy to build by anyone and it only requires basic tools. As a general rule, we recommend you to invest in durable lumber, such as cedar, pine or redwood, as they also have a nice natural finish.

How to build a bar table plans
Building the table frame
The first step of the project is to build the frame for the table. Cut the components from 1×4 lumber at the dimensions shown in the diagram. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the supports and then insert 1 1/4″ screws. Make sure the corners are square and align the edges flush.
Assembling the tabletop
Build the tabletop for the bar table from 1×4 lumber. Cut the slats from 1×4 lumber, as shown in the plans. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the 26 1/2″ long slats. Fit a piece of 1/4″ plywood between the slats, to create even gaps. Align the edges flush and add glue to the joints.
Attaching the legs
Fit the 1×4 legs to the table. Align the legs with attention, drill pilot holes through the tabletop and insert 1 1/4″ screws to lock them into place tightly.
Assembling the bar table
Lay the tabletop on a level surface and center the frame of the table. Drill pilot holes through the table frame and insert screws to secure it to tabletop. Turn the bar table upside down and drive a few 2″ nails through the tabletop into the frame.
X brace
Use 1×4 lumber for the bar table X braces. Make 45 bevel cuts to both ends of the braces. Moreover, you need to make a 1 3/4″ deep notch to the middle of the braces, so you can lock them together.
Fitting the X-braces
Fit the braces to the table, drill pilot holes and insert 1 1/4″ screws to lock them into place tightly.
Wood Bar Table Plans
One of the last steps of the woodworking project is to take care of the finishing touches. Therefore, fill the pilot holes with wood putty and smooth the surface with 120-grit sandpaper. In order to protect the lumber from water damage, I recommend you to cover the components with several coats of paint. Place the wood chair in a proper location and move it whenever necessary.
